Role: Visual Effects

Description: For the brief we could do anything we wanted to do. So I chose to create a music festival for the Hyperpop artists. The main collateral was to create small music videos with effects to introduce the artists to the festival, linking the effects to the sound of the music. This shows my specialization in the unorthodox visual designs while tying in my values of audaciousness and difference. I used After Effects to produce these visuals.

Workflow

While creating these bodys of work, I wanted each mini music video to have their own distinct visual that represented the sound of their music, with Jane’s music being abrasive and choppy, I chose to add snappy cuts and bright flashes to represent her music in visual form. With Lucy’s one I opted for digital damage and diffuse as his music has digital aspects in his music alongside bitcrushing in the audio mixing. With i9bonsai I tried to make the video more “etherial” as his music is floaty and soft along side with some abruptness in some parts. With Kuru I used multiple footage ontop of each other and adding difference as his music production has multiple layers with vocals and instrumentals.
